Basketball Recap: Freedom Prep Academy Beats Telos for Their Third Straight Win

Freedom Prep Academy extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Wyatt Leigh. The Freedom Prep Academy Eagles snuck past Telos with a 52-46 win on Friday thanks in part to Leigh, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 19 boards. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Seth Ponczoch, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Telos' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kemari McCauley, who put up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Edwards, who had nine points.

Freedom Prep Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Telos, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Freedom Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-26 defeat against Maeser Prep Academy on the 10th. As for Telos, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 80-59 loss against Utah Military Academy - Hill Field on the 11th.
