Recap: Marion Swamp Foxes vs. Hannah-Pamplico Raiders
The Marion Swamp Foxes entered their tilt with the Hannah-Pamplico Raiders with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Marion was the clear victor by a 68-46 margin over Hannah-Pamplico. Given Marion's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Hannah-Pamplico is ranked 244th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marion had a senior duo take command as Jamorius Wilson scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and Jamarius Williams scored 13 points along with seven steals. Williams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Jameir Legette was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Hannah-Pamplico lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tylin Jenkins. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Franklin Williams, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Hannah-Pamplico struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Marion's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Hannah-Pamplico, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Marion will head out on the road to face off against Lee Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lee Central is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.2 points per game.
