Soccer Game Preview: Waterloo vs. Lyons

The Waterloo Tigers will face off against the Lyons Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Waterloo's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Waterloo's offense. They fell just short of Penn Yan Academy by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Waterloo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Penn Yan Academy are ranked 80th).

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Thursday Lyons sidestepped Midlakes for a 2-1 win.

Waterloo's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Lyons, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Waterloo beat Lyons by a goal when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-2. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
