Basketball Recap: Monterey Comes Up Short

Monterey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the Jackson County Blue Devils, falling 78-37. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 74-41 back in November of 2025.

Mason Moss and Braden Lee certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Moss made all 5 shots he took to post 12 points, while Lee posted nine points. Lee is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last four games he's played.

Monterey's defeat dropped their record down to 6-22. As for Jackson County, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monterey will challenge Scott at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson County, they will face off against Tennessee Heat at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson County will be up against Tennessee Heat's rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.15 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
