Softball Game Preview: Pike Red Devils vs. Anderson Indians

Pike is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Anderson an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Pike Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Anderson Indians at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pike is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 14 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Perry Meridian on Monday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 13-1.

Pike saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shiya Cooksey-Hatter, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Anderson's offense. They lost 19-0 to Yorktown on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Indians' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Anderson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Pike, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Pike's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Red Devils have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 stolen bases per game.
