Reed-Custer came into Wednesday's contest looking for another win against Gardner-South Wilmington, but Leondre Kemp wouldn't allow it. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Comets 50-47 thanks in part to Kemp, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards. Gardner-South Wilmington is undefeated when Kemp posts 15 or more points, but 2-4 otherwise.

Reed-Custer lost on Wednesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Eddie Bryan, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Kuban, who posted ten points and three steals.

Gardner-South Wilmington now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Reed-Custer, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Gardner-South Wilmington will venture away from home to square off against Grant Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Reed-Custer and Manteno will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
