Soccer Recap: Hopewell Finds Playoff Glory Versus South Mecklenburg

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hopewell had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They never let the South Mecklenburg Sabres get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Hopewell wouldn't have won without Maggie Osterndorf, who scored the game-winner.

Hopewell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those ten matches. As for South Mecklenburg, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7-1.

Looking ahead, Hopewell will challenge Weddington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. South Mecklenburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
