Flag Football Game Preview: Northfield Nighthawks vs. Lincoln Lancers

The Northfield Nighthawks will take on the Lincoln Lancers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Northfield's defense has only allowed 11.1 points per game this season, so Lincoln's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Northfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Denver South, who was ranked sixth at the time (Northfield was ranked 12th). The Nighthawks were outmatched by the Ravens and fell 39-6. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Nighthawks, who until this game were averaging 11.07 points allowed.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln). They came out on top against Kennedy by a score of 15-7 on Thursday.

Lincoln's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Northfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Northfield didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lincoln in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 14-8 victory. Will the Nighthawks repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
