Durango came tearing into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Fruita Monument Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for Durango, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Emma Hyder and Bella Saren scored both of Durango's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Durango pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four contests. As for Fruita Monument, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1-3 and their overall record down to 6-3-3.

Coincidentally, Durango and Fruita Monument will both be playing Palisade the next time they take the pitch. The Demons will head out to face the Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
