Basketball Game Preview: Saint Viator Lions vs. Lake Forest Academy Caxys

The Saint Viator Lions will head out to challenge the Lake Forest Academy Caxys at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Saturday, Saint Viator came up short against Marian Catholic and fell 53-40. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Forest Academy). They strolled past Latin with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 75-59. Given the Caxys' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Romans are ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lake Forest Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Saint Viator, their loss dropped their record down to 17-10.

Saint Viator came up short against Lake Forest Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 63-58. Can Saint Viator avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
