Soccer Game Preview: Concord-Carlisle vs. Wayland

The Concord-Carlisle Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Wayland Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Concord-Carlisle took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Westford Academy with a sharp 3-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Concord-Carlisle's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Westford Academy are ranked 179th).

Meanwhile, neither Wayland nor Lincoln-Sudbury could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Concord-Carlisle has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those six matchups. Wayland's draw gives them a new season record of 5-4-3.

Concord-Carlisle came out on top in a nail-biter against Wayland when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
