Softball Game Preview: Grant Community Bulldogs vs. Wauconda Bulldogs

Grant Community will venture away from home to challenge Wauconda at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Grant Community is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Grant Community and Johnsburg have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Skyhawks by a score of 6-5.

Meanwhile, Wauconda suffered their biggest defeat since April 23rd on Friday. They lost 15-1 to Warren Township. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Ellary Nick was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Wauconda's loss dropped their record down to 6-22. As for Grant Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12-1.

Grant Community took their victory against Wauconda in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 14-7 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grant Community since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
