Baseball Recap: Bishop Union's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Bishop Union dropped their record down to 15-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the California City Ravens by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Broncos couldn't push the score so high this time.

Bishop Union saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Richie Talavera, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was Talavera's first of the season.

As for California City, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-9-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games.

On California City's side, Blake Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. Moore has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 14 consecutive appearances.

Bishop Union wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-3 victory against Boron on the 13th. As for California City, they have also already played their next game, a 15-10 win against Kern Valley on the 13th.
