Basketball Recap: Brandon Takes a Loss

Brandon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the Durant Cougars, falling 64-30. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Brandon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Messiah McKinley, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Pyron, who had eight points.

Niko Sosa was a one-man wrecking crew for Durant as he went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points and six steals. Matthew Suarez was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Brandon's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Durant, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brandon and Freedom will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. As for Durant, they and Plant will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Plant knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Durant likes a good challenge.
