Baseball Recap: Bald Knob Takes a Loss

Bald Knob was the 21-16 winner over Atkins when they last played one another back in April of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Bald Knob Bulldogs fell 8-3 to the Atkins Red Devils on Friday. The match marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Bald Knob saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dakota Shoebottom, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Gavin Mitsunaga also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Bald Knob's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Atkins, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bald Knob will venture away from home to take on Maumelle Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Atkins, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hackett at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
