Recap: Brook Hill Guard vs. McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs
The Brook Hill Guard stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by McKinney Christian Academy at home to the tune of 65-24. With Brook Hill ahead 38-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Brook Hill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Remy Tonroy out in front who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenna Hill, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, McKinney Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Sadie Zbranek scored 13 points. Hannah Massingale was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, McKinney Christian Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Brook Hill racked up 16 assists.
Brook Hill has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for McKinney Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brook Hill will square off against Covenant at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Covenant comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for McKinney Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Vanguard College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
