Basketball Recap: Lodi Academy Skates Past Tioga with Ease

Lodi Academy won the last time they faced Tioga and things went their way on Monday too. The Lodi Academy Titans really took it to the Tioga Timberwolves for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-30 win. The Titans pushed the score to 68-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Timberwolves cut but never quite recovered from.

Lodi Academy was led to victory by Cole Berreth and Ty Zinke. Berreth went 8 of 12 on his way to 16 points along with six assists and six boards, while Zinke dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Those six assists gave Berreth a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cedric Johnson, who posted eight points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Lodi Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Lodi Academy moved to 5-6 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Tioga, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Lodi Academy will head out to face off against Delta Charter at 6:30 p.m. on January 21st. As for Tioga, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Humphreys Able Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
