Meanwhile, Honnold struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-6 when he doesn't). At the plate, Aparixo scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5, while Honnold scored a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kevyn Espinoza, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
