Volleyball Recap: Summit Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Franklin

Summit faced Franklin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Spartans fell just short of the Admirals by a score of 2-1. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Admirals earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Maggie Kalisz paced Summit's offense, picking up ten kills. Kalisz got some help from Amanda Shanahan and her 24 assists.

Summit's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Franklin, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Summit is set to face off against their familiar foe Nolensville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Franklin will square off against rival Page at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
