Basketball Recap: Lawrence Academy Skates Past Ridgecroft with Ease

Lawrence Academy came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Ridgecroft Rams 68-35. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 24 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Claire Smith, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games she's played. Jaslene Etheridge was another key player, going 5 for 10 on her way to 15 points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Lawrence Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive games.

Lawrence Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.9 points per game. As for Ridgecroft, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.

Coincidentally, Lawrence Academy and Ridgecroft will both be playing Albemarle School the next time they take the court. Lawrence Academy will host Albemarle School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Ridgecroft will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st.
