Baseball Recap: GV Christian Comes Up Short

GV Christian lost against Pinecrest Academy Cadence back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The GV Christian Guardians took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars.

GV Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christopher Oxhorn, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Wake Rowling was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

GV Christian's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

Coming up, GV Christian will take on Spring Mountain in a tournament on Friday. As for Pinecrest Academy Cadence, they will head out on the road to square off against Cheyenne at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Cheyenne will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Pinecrest Academy Cadence surely won't give up without a fight.
