Softball Game Preview: Glenbrook Apaches vs. Sacred Heart Trojans

The Glenbrook Apaches will challenge the Sacred Heart Trojans on Wednesday. Glenbrook's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Sacred Heart's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Glenbrook is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over Hanson Memorial. Considering the Apaches have won 17 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Sacred Heart was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holy Savior Menard. The game marked the first time this season in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.

The win (which was Glenbrook's third in a row) raised their record to 25-8. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Sacred Heart, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-10.

Glenbrook skirted past Sacred Heart 8-6 when the teams last played back in March. Do the Apaches have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
