Baseball Recap: Coral Gables Comes Up Short

Coral Gables managed to slip by Immaculata-La Salle the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Coral Gables Cavaliers came up short against the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions on Thursday, falling 9-3. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Royal Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Timothy Negron was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Brian Santana was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Coral Gables is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6-1. As for Immaculata-La Salle, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coral Gables will face off against Gulliver Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Coral Gables is facing Gulliver Prep at the right time seeing as Gulliver Prep is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Immaculata-La Salle, they will challenge True North Classical Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
