Baseball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against St. Francis Borgia on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bluejays have suffered since April 15th.

Washington has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for St. Francis Borgia, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-13.

Looking ahead, Washington will square off against Timberland at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Francis Borgia, they will venture away from home to take on Warrenton at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.05 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
