Recap: Garden Plain Owls vs. Hesston Swathers
After flying high against the Rose Hill Rockets on Tuesday, the Garden Plain Owls came back down to earth. Garden Plain was beaten by Hesston 58-25 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Garden Plain can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Hesston is ranked 34th).
Ava Mies was Garden Plain's leading scorer, having posted nine points.
Claire Rolfs held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
Garden Plain has fallen quite a ways from their 15-7 record last season and are now at 1-2. As for Hesston, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garden Plain will take on Nickerson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hesston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rose Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
