Basketball Recap: Dexter Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Notre Dame

Dexter lost to Notre Dame back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Dexter Bearcats secured a 63-58 W over the Notre Dame Bulldogs. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bearcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 125th).

Dexter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points over those games. As for Notre Dame, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Bearcats challenge the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Notre Dame, they will be playing at home against New Madrid County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
