Softball Recap: West Craven Takes a Loss

The matchup between West Craven and Farmville Central on Friday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Eagles came up short against the Jaguars, falling 13-6. The defeat leaves the Eagles still looking for their first win of the season.

Izabella Sutton was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Angelina Smith was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

West Craven's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Farmville Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Looking ahead, West Craven will head out to challenge Greene Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.31 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Farmville Central, they will welcome Goldsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
