Softball Recap: Cedar Ridge Continues Home Dominance on Monday

While Cedar Ridge put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Person. The Fighting Red Wolves put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Fighting Red Wolves in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won five in a row.

Charlotte Lowry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Lowry was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mia Best, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimber Shambley, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Cedar Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Person only posted an OBP of .211.

Cedar Ridge pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Person, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, Cedar Ridge and Person will both be playing Orange the next time they take the field. The Rockets will head out to face the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Fighting Red Wolves will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
