Amherst and Bonduel are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amherst is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Amherst will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Shiocton on Monday. The Falcons were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Chiefs. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Sam Nooyen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackie Nooyen, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Calee Schulist was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Bonduel entered their tilt with Wittenberg-Birnamwood on Monday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They beat the Chargers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4.
Emery Thompson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Haley Conradt, who went 4-for-5 with two runs.
Bonduel hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
Amherst's record now sits at 10-8. As for Bonduel, their record is now 17-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Amherst hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Bonduel struggles in that department as they've averaged .378. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Amherst suffered a grim 18-4 defeat to Bonduel in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
