Baseball Recap: Kennedy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Kennedy barely beat Montclair the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Kennedy never let Montclair get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Fighting Irish as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kennedy got a great performance from Noah Arriola as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Arriola a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Alonzo Alvarez was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Kennedy now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Montclair, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennedy will be taking part in a tournament against California at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Montclair, they will take on Canyon Springs in a tournament on Monday. Montclair is facing Canyon Springs at the right time seeing as Canyon Springs is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
