Baseball Recap: Fort Lupton Has No Trouble Against Arvada

Fort Lupton lost to Arvada back in April of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Bluedevils blew past the Bulldogs 18-8. The result was nothing new for the Bluedevils, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Brayden Carnahan made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Fort Lupton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-8 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Josiah Gonzales was excellent, firing off one home run, four runs, and four doubles while going 5-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Cade Rhoda, who went 2-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Fort Lupton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 8.8.

Fort Lupton's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for Arvada, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Fort Lupton will venture away from home to take on Thornton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Arvada, they will head out to square off against Middle Park at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
