Volleyball Recap: Hampton Roads Academy Takes a Loss

Hampton Roads Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Norfolk Academy Bulldogs, falling 3-0. The Navigators were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While Hampton Roads Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Norfolk Academy's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-9, 25-13.

Allie Wight was the offensive standout of the match as she had three digs and two aces. Aubrey McGrath also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Hampton Roads Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Norfolk Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Hampton Roads Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Catholic on the 9th. As for Norfolk Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Norfolk Christian on the 9th.
