Troy hadn't done well against Miamisburg recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Vikings 4-2. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 5-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Riley King spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Troy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Ater, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits Ater has posted since back in April of 2024.

Troy's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Miamisburg, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Troy will face off against West Carrollton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Miamisburg, they will host Springboro at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
