Baseball Recap: Taft Gets the Win

Taft won the last time they faced George West and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Greyhounds walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Longhorns. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Greyhounds.

Trae Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Taft: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 8-10-1 otherwise. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, John Franco was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jerry Chien, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Taft now has a winning record of 12-11-1. As for George West, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-20-2.

As of now, neither Taft nor the Longhorns have any future games scheduled.
