Riverdale entered their tilt with Manteno on Friday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They skirted past the Panthers 4-2. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2022.

Katie Cox was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Breckin DeLaRosa was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Riverdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Riverdale's victory bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Manteno, their loss dropped their record down to 20-7.

Coming up, Riverdale will challenge Biggsville West Central at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Heat have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Manteno does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
