Basketball Recap: Lakewood Takes a Loss

Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Valor Christian Eagles 81-32. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-19.

When it comes to explaining why Lakewood lost, don't look at Quentin Wilson. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 15 en route to 20 points.

Cole Scherer was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists for Valor Christian. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Wynja, who went 5 of 8 en route to 14 points and seven boards.

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Valor Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Lakewood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 88-24 loss against Ralston Valley on the 24th. As for Valor Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 70-55 win against Arvada West on the 24th.
