Bronson is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Cedar Key a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The two teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Bronson suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Newberry 71-18. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bronson in their matchups with Newberry: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Cedar Key, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-30 loss to Saint Francis Catholic last Friday. While losing is never fun, Cedar Key can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 600th, while Saint Francis Catholic is ranked 258th).
Bronson's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Cedar Key, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
