Volleyball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Calvary Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Midland Timberwolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on September 6th.

Calvary Christian Academy may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 18 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-18.

Anna Albritton paced Calvary Christian Academy's offense, picking up four kills. Albritton got some help from Sidney Jackson and her four assists. Albritton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Midland was led to victory by Adalynn Stickel and Angelina Gonzalez. Stickel had six digs and four aces, while Gonzalez had nine digs. Those nine digs gave Gonzalez a new career-high.

Calvary Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Midland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-4.

Calvary Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Arthur-Okaw Christian on the 30th. As for Midland, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Earlville on the 29th.
