Baseball Recap: Littlestown Has No Trouble Against York County Tech

Littlestown came out on top against York County Tech on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run fifth inning. The Thunderbolts were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Spartans. The victory continues a trend for the Thunderbolts in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won nine in a row.

Braylen Branham made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Branham was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs. He has become a key player for Littlestown: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, Lucas Bacher was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Connor Dillon, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Littlestown's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for York County Tech, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Coming up, Littlestown is taking a road trip to challenge Bermudian Springs at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for York County Tech, they will host Fairfield at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
