Volleyball Recap: West Jefferson Takes a Loss

West Jefferson saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They came up short against the Newark Catholic Green Wave, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-11, 25-9.

Julia Beatty paced West Jefferson's offense, picking up four kills. Beatty got some help from Mary Ava Wills and her five assists.

Newark Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christiana Scarsella, who had nine digs and three aces. That's the most aces Scarsella has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Mckinstry, who had eight digs and three assists.

West Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Newark Catholic, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-0.

West Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newark Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Tree of Life Christian on the 23rd.
