Baseball Recap: Scott Wins Going Away Against Westside

Scott got themselves on the board against WestSide on Wednesday, but WestSide never followed suit. They blew past the WestSide Renegades 18-0. The win continues a trend for the Skyhawks in their matchups with the Renegades: they've now won five in a row.

Brodie Null made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter McClung, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Nate Easterling was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Scott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as WestSide only posted an OBP of .118.

Scott now has a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scott will venture away from home to challenge Roane County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for WestSide, they will head out on the road to take on Bluefield at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
