Volleyball Recap: Ouray Takes a Loss

Ouray was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Nucla Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Ouray was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-23, 25-13.

Hadley Choate paced Ouray's offense, picking up three kills. Choate got some help from Addison Disser and her six assists. Mikayla Hirt and Brooke Edder kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Ouray's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Nucla, with the win, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 8-7.

Ouray has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Dove Creek on the 30th. As for Nucla, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Ridgway on the 30th.
