Baseball Game Preview: Miller Rebels vs. Pacific Pirates

Miller has gone a perfect 10-0 against Pacific recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Rebels will square off against the Pirates at 3:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If Miller beats Pacific with seven runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Everything went the Rebels' way against San Bernardino on Tuesday as they made off with a 7-1 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Rebels, who have now won six games in a row.

The team relied heavily on Giovanni Aguilar, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

26 must be Pacific's lucky number: they beat Entrepreneur with that score not once but twice last Tuesday. The Pirates beat the Panthers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 26-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Miller pushed their record up to 11-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Pacific, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Everything went Miller's way against Pacific in their previous meeting back in March, as Miller made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
