Recap: Cooper Bulldogs vs. Boles Hornets

The Cooper Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 66 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Boles by a score of 69-66. Cooper was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Boles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Boles' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Layton Morgan led the charge by scoring 16 points. Zion Mcfadden was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.

Cooper's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for Boles, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-12.

Cooper will head out on the road to take on Fruitvale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boles, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alba-Golden at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boles knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Alba-Golden likes a good challenge.
