Basketball Recap: Mayfield's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Mayfield hadn't done well against Kenston recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Mayfield Wildcats managed a 51-46 victory over the Kenston Bombers. 51 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Despite the loss, Kenston still got an impressive performance from Morgan Cicek, who went 6 for 13 en route to 21 points and six rebounds. Mariela Macias was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Mayfield will face off against North at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kenston, they will take on Chardon at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Kenston is facing Chardon at the right time seeing as Chardon is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
