Flag Football Recap: Tucker Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Tucker dropped to 11-4 on Monday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell 12-6 to the Columbus Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 18th).

Tucker didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kil Hoih and Amunique Blyden. Blyden is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as she's now made five or more in each of the last three games she's played. Hoih got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Columbus, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.1 points on average over those games.

The critical scores for Columbus came from Isabella Luke and Lexie Ito.

Looking ahead, Tucker will venture away from home to face off against Jackson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tigers 6.7, the Jaguars 4.3) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Columbus, they will challenge Stewart County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
