After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Prestonsburg, Phelps was happy to have turned things around  on Monday. They put the hurt on the Hurley Rebels with a sharp  3-0 victory. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive  win against them.
 Phelps walked away with the   victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-12,  25-21.
 Aerionna Pigman paced Phelps' offense, picking up 12 kills. Pigman got some help from  Cloey Bevins and her 24 assists. Pigman was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with five aces.
Phelps' win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Hurley, they dropped their record down to 0-6-1 with the  defeat, which was their eighth straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Coming up, Phelps will venture away from home to  square off against Pike County Central  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Hurley, they will face off against Council at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
