Baseball Game Preview: San Clemente Tritons vs. El Toro Chargers

For the second straight game, San Clemente will face off against El Toro. The Tritons will host the Chargers at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (San Clemente has ten straight victories, El Toro has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

San Clemente's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past El Toro 2-0.

For El Toro's part, they got a good showing from Hudson Robin, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The Chargers are 5-2 when Robin allows two or fewer earned runs, but 9-10 otherwise.

At the plate, El Toro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nacho Gonzales, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases.

San Clemente's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-9. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for El Toro, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.
