Preview: Celeste Blue Devils vs. Honey Grove Warriors
Celeste is 2-8 against Honey Grove since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Celeste Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Honey Grove Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Celeste suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 60-37 to Sam Rayburn, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Celeste has struggled against Sam Rayburn recently, as their game on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their defeat, Celeste saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Taylea West, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddieclaire Park, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Honey Grove's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Wolfe City 41-36.
Celeste has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-10 record this season. As for Honey Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 19-10.
