Basketball Game Preview: Chambers Cougars vs. West Charlotte Lions

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cougars duke it out with the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Chambers is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against North Mecklenburg on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Chambers was outmatched by North Mecklenburg and fell 62-14. The Cougars have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for West Charlotte on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Harding University out of the water with a 73-43 final score. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 22 points or more this season.

West Charlotte is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.3 points. As for Chambers, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Chambers took a serious blow against West Charlotte when the teams last played back in January, falling 75-34. Can Chambers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
